Digital Marketing Case Study – Junk Hunters

We first started working with Junk Hunters in 2010. At the time, the business was relatively new, had a different name ‘London Junk’ and was based in North London only. The owner, Harsha Rathnayake started out with just himself and one vehicle, but had strong ambitions to grow the company and wanted to work with a digital marketing agency that could support him in that quest and were in it for the long haul.

Junk Hunters are a waste clearance company operating throughout London and Birmingham. The waste management sector online is very competitive. There are some large, well-established players and hundreds or ‘man and van’ type operations.

The Challenge

We needed to take the success and growth that we had enjoyed over several years with London Junk, and repeat and improve upon it with a new domain name, brand, and geographical area.

What We Did

We started by redirecting the old website to ensure that any traffic was sent to the correct pages on the new site.

Keyword research to ensure we were optimising for the right London phrases whilst producing a new set of phrases for Birmingham.

The site had to be structured carefully to separate the two areas out and ensure that the user experience remained strong.

Designed a new PPC campaign for the site for both geographical areas focusing on better landing pages giving great user experience.

Developed a content marketing plan to ensure both the older migrated content and the new content was attracting and importantly converting visitors for both geographical areas.

Ongoing we continue to scale the website through new content, manage the PPC campaigns, maintain the site and optimise for new and existing keyphrases.
