Content, Content, Content – It’s all about Content
You should be aware of this by now but if you are not, regular fresh content that is regularly shared is the key to success and what businesses need to help build their brand awareness on social media sites.
It is simple and sounds easy but when you run a business and you are busy it is difficult to prioritise your time, or to think of interesting things to tweet about or post. It can be challenging and some find it stressful but really it is simple and every single post does not need to be a well thought out, tactical pieces of information. Not saying that this is a bad thing but for most people this is pretty hard to achieve unless this is one of your strengths!
As I mentioned above, you don’t have to come up with the funniest or most interesting post of the day, but you do need to post regularly and by regularly it should be more than once a week!
Building an audience for your business is important and achievable through social media. It gives customers a way to find out about your business, promotions, etc. without having to be added to a mailing list. Plus it provides you with an audience that wants to find out more about you, which is why they tend to follow you, so you can keep them up to date with your business, and the best thing is that it is FREE.
So how do you keep coming up with Interesting Content!
Firstly – make it simple, make it fun and make it inviting to look at. Focus not only on your business but events that are happening in your area, or national events that people will find interesting.
Videos are also a great way to get your message across. They are a great way to promote your products and a great way to interact with your followers. Not only do people like to watch short videos but it can help show how a product works, which photos struggle to do.
Quotes are a great way to add humour or inspiration to your posts. Plus everyone loves a motivational quote during their day so you can’t go wrong with these.
How about a Poll? This is a good way to get people interacting with your site and see what they are really interested in.
Photos don’t have to be perfect. Behind the scene shots or photos of you or your employees working shows your audience you are human too. They can then associate the business as being more human and not just another large corporation.
Asking for advice on a topic if it is suitable is another way to get people interacting. You may be surprised with the answers that people come up with!
If you have been in business for a while you can post about how far you have come, post any old logos or images you may have from when you first started out. You may surprise yourself even at how far you have come and the changes you have made along the way.
The key to any social networking is sharing. The more people that share and comment the better your results will be. You will get more followers which will equal more business, so get out there and start adding your content!
