Frequently Asked Questions
What do you do for your Clients?
We typically look after all aspects of digital marketing and web development for all of our clients. This includes, web design and build, SEO, content, pay per click and online advertising, analytics, conversion architecture, customer journey and user experience improvements, ongoing development and technical improvements as well as website maintenance.
How do you work with your Clients?
We work with our clients on a retained basis and our work is ongoing. To have a successful digital marketing strategy implemented takes consistent work over time and therefore we do not take on short term or one off projects. This is because our focus is always our long-term clients and the quality of service we provide is something that we will not compromise on.
Do you manage Social Media Campaigns?
We generally do not manage social media for our clients but do work alongside a company that specialises in this type of work.
Do you look after non-digital Marketing?
For any non-digital marketing, PR, branding and design work we recommend Limewash in Cambridge
How much does is cost?
Costs vary depending on the requirements of each individual business, the size of the market, competition and type of website we need to look after. Typically, we charge no less than £1,000 per month (+ VAT). We do not believe in packages with specified work, purely because the tasks we need to achieve change each month. We charge based on hours spent. This allows our clients to budget for the year. There are no additional costs unless big development projects are required, and this is quoted on separately.
How long am I contracted for?
We do not tie our clients into contracts. We ask that we are able to work together for 12 months initially to allow us to really have a positive impact, but this is not enforced. If at any point a client or we ourselves are not happy, then we can choose to just walk away with no hard feelings. Other than that we purely ask for 30 days notice. Many of our clients stay with us for many many years and so we have never felt the need to force them to continue if it’s not right for whatever reason.
What can I expect when we start working together?
In the initial stages we will have lots of discussion to enable us to understand your business as well as we can. This includes your overall goals, an insight into your competition and we also carry out a deep dive analysis of your current online marketing activity. We will agree a plan and then start to implement it.
How long does it take to work?
Again, there is no magic answer here. It depends a lot on your product/service, the marketplace and how much work there is to do on your existing website. We typically see improvements within the first 6 months, sometimes quicker and sometimes it can take longer than this. Digital Marketing is a medium-term strategy and should be viewed as an investment in your business rather than a cost.
What do reviews look like?
We tend to leave this up to the client as much as anything. In the early days we will communicate on a very regular basis. As time goes on then we will be led by the clients themselves. At a review meeting we will discuss how business is going generally, discuss enquiries, website traffic and performance, content requirements and present any relevant data. Internally we will perform a client deep dive every 6 months.
So, you write all the content for us?
We write an awful lot of content for our clients; it tends to be SEO led content and falls within our monthly hours. This usually equates to 1 new piece each month and many more updates and amendments to existing pages to keep them fresh and interesting. We always implore that it is also important for clients to provide content, specifically around their business, products and services and their industry. If a client does not have the capacity or expertise in-house to provide this, we can write additional content each month for an extra charge (as agreed in advance).
What do your clients need to provide?
Here are the things we ask of from our clients:
- Full technical access to your website.
- A point of contact that we can work with on an ongoing basis.
- Open and honest working relationship, collaboration is key in everything we do.
- To update us on relevant business news, new products, events, competition etc.
- Provision of content as already mentioned.
- To discuss with us any proposed marketing activity outside of what we do that could impact our work.
- Payment on time each month
- Basically, treat us as your digital marketing team
If you have any additional questions that aren’t covered here. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
