Ranking well in search engines is what every business owner strives for, with achieving the first page being the ultimate target. However, some businesses seem to get better results that others, so why is this?
One of the key objectives when you have a website is to keep the content on it fresh and up to date. Fresh regular and good quality content will help build your businesses profile and help you to increase your search engine rankings.
Just adding content is not all that is required, only part of it. Adding images that are relevant to the content is important and as we all know a picture can say a thousand words… Any image that is added to content must include a title and an image alt tag. The reason why videos get you good SEO results today is mainly due to the algorithm update hummingbird which recognises good quality content as being more important that optimising keywords. Videos although they take a bit longer to do than an image can be seen as a positive for many business, as it can be hard sometimes to get exactly what you want to say in an image. However with a video, say you have a camping table that you are selling, you could add a demonstration on how it works, the benefits and what it can be used for, all within a single video that will back up what your text is saying.
So although text, images and videos for many may mean a bit or extra work, they will do wonders for your website and how well it ranks!
